The good news is that it's a perfectly well-formed dmg and the
content looks fine. The bad (but hardly unexpected) news is that
it doesn't run on OS X 10.4 -- for lack of the libXrandr library.
This must be part of the X11 installation on 10.5 but not 10.4.

I understand that between 10.4 and 10.5 Apple shifted from xfree86
to xorg as the basis for their X11 installation. It's quite
likely hopeless (or if not quite that, then beyond the patience of
mere mortals) trying to create a build that will run OK on both
platforms.

Is there anyone out there who can test Sven's dmg on Leopard? If
it works generally on Leopard, perhaps we should amend the gretl
OS X webpage to point to different dmg's for different OS X
variants. Sven, would it be OK if with 1.7.1 we point an SF link
to uni-frankfurt?

Allin.
