I'll admit that's an entirely untested situation.  I'll take a 
look.  Thanks for the report.

It's getting better, I think.  Right now Jack and I are cooking up 
a quite cool GMM implementation to add to what's already on the 
table.  Not to mention the newly added BFGSmax() and fdjac() 
functions for hand-rolled optimization -- see the "genr" chapter 
of the User's Guide.
