I did reproduce the crash.
I am using CVS build.
        G N U P L O T
        Version 4.0 patchlevel 0
        last modified Thu Apr 15 14:44:22 CEST 2004
        System: Linux 2.6.18.8-0.3-default

I fixed crash by changing the line below to a higher number (to 80 :):
#define MAX_PLOT_LINES 8

File is lib/src/graphing.h


Tested the plot of 12 variables in greene5_1.gdt.
