If it is essentially equal to @gretldir in many cases, then yes.
So this will break the existing py4gretl setup, but that's ok, I will
prepare new versions which should use @userdir for the temp files
always, now that I know how it's done.
IIRC the usage of @userdir was changed after 1.6.2 (the double-quote
wrapping issue, at my request actually -- or was it before 1.6.2?). So
I'm wondering, is there a way to use @userdir (maybe in combination with
set shelldir) such that it will be backwards compatible with old-style
usage as well?
