OK, there's a new snapshot in place now.

I now have access to an intel Mac, but not a PPC one any more.  If 
it's worth supporting PPC for gretl >= 1.6.6 we'll have to try to 
find someone who can build on that platform.

(There's also the possibility of building a "universal binary" on 
either type of Mac platform, but having taken a quick look at the 
docs on that I find the prospect daunting.  If anyone else is less 
daunted -- go for it!)
