Without having read the thread thoroughly, I can see no real advantage
of allowing such name clashes. One can always use "gammavector" or
"mygamma" or whatever. The disadvantage I see is potentially confusing
and hard-to-debug script code, and possible new bugs at the gretl
interpreter level.
