OK, so I'm working on that basis.  

I've made updated versions of all the affected .gfn files on the 
function-package server, and have amended the server code so that 
if you look at function packages with gretl >= 1.7.6 you get the
revised versions, but gretl <= 1.7.5 gets the old versions.
