Much thanks for your reply.

I have an Fedora Core 2 machine which I use as a home server. Your latest 
rpm build of gretl does install on that machine. However, I still can't 
build it on that machine.

I have installed gretl-1.7.4-1gtk2.i586.rpm on my Core 2 using the 
--nodeps flag. As yet, I haven't tried using it, other than bringing up 
the initial interface.

I have tried setting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH variable both on the FC2 as 
well as the FC8 machine in the hopes of getting gretl to build. No luck.

Any further guidance would be appreciated.
