I like the idea. Possibly, we could have an "X" (close button) in the
upper-right corner, à la evince or totem, to revert to the traditional style
if wanted.

I use some of those a lot: new script, console, session view. The others, never.

Not bad. A somewhat radical change, though. A lot of usability testing would
be needed.
