Sorry, I've been busy with bug-fixing lately.

I think the splash image you've made is rather spiffy in its own 
right, but it doesn't really say "gretl" to me.

Some might find the gretl/Gretel pun excessively whimsical, but 
for better or worse the Gretel image _is_ the logo we've got: 
it's been on the website, on the cover of the manual, and in the 
Windows and xpm icons for years.  So I think a gretl splash 
screen should at least "refer to" this image in some way.

(Unless and until, perhaps, we do a total revamp of gretl's
visual imagery, including new icons, website design, etc -- 
which may not be a bad idea at some point.)

One other small comment: I found letters on the "phages" in the 
foreground a little distracting: I wanted to read what they 
said, but got "BLSMFE".
