Here are answers to the remainder of Sven's questions about
obscure strings in gretl.pot:
> 15) Daily date to represent week:
> what values can date take here?
To see the context, go to Sample/Dataset structure. Select "time
series", then weekly. The marked string appears at the top of the
next dialog.
> 16) scale
> size? magnification? ...
Context: open (say) data9-7 from Ramanathan. Do a time-series
plot of QNC and PRICE. Click on the graph to edit, and go to the
"Lines" tab in the dialog box. "scale" indicates the scale factor
that will be applied to the series.
> 20) Seasonal
> seasonal dummy, effect, or what?
You'll see the context here if you open a quarterly or monthly
time-series dataset and then open the ARIMA dialog box. There
are two sets of selectors for AR and MA orders, labeled
"Seasonal" and "Non-seasonal". Could be expanded to "Seasonal
order".
