[Gretl-users] Re: Excel 2003 files

Occasionally, I have come across CERTAIN Excel files that are formatted 
properly for read into Gretl BUT have weird variable names (in the first 
row). On such instances, as I recall, Gretl gives a somewhat cryptic 
message about a character in a variable name (or the like).

I remember that I was annoyed that it did not SPECIFICALLY give 
information on the offending variable, so I had to search all the 
columns manually.

Other than these rather vague memories, I am afraid I cannot be more 
specific. Neither do I possess such a file any longer.
