This is FANTASTIC!

A couple of comments after a brief inspection of the code. First, it'd be 
much better to work against the CVS rather than 1.7.3 (which is quite 
old): you can find ample information on how to download CVS on the 
sourceforge site. Otherwise, it becomes rather difficult to merge your 
additions in. Plus, you can send diff files instead of the whole tree.

Second, as you obviously know, having explored the source, we try to 
observe a few style guidelines (eg, we don't use C++-style comments, we 
use tabs to 4 spaces and so on), but it's ok, as long as the code compiles!
